It doesn't pay to be stubborn...

I put my back out last Thursday. It was my own fault!! I wanted to move the sofa bed and rather than asking for help, I decided to do it all by myself. Those sofa beds weigh a ton, and I was just about finished moving it when I felt the twang in my lower back. It doesn't hurt when I'm walking around but really starts to ache when I sit for an extended period or when I lay down. The first couple of nights after it happened I hardly slept because of the pain. My problem is I have a 25 year old's mind but a 62 year old's body. This getting old really is a pain!

My daughter and family stayed with us last weekend. It was MissM's 4th birthday, and they had her party at our house. There were 15 adults, 4 children, 2 cats and one dog crammed into the living room. Lots of food, lots of noise, lots of presents!! It's hard to believe that MissM is four now. It seems like just yesterday that we were pacing the floor in the waiting room at the hospital.

The weather has been really blustery this past week, with high winds and lots of rain. It's typical weather for November here on the West Coast. There have been lots of power outages but so far we haven't lost ours. I've given up trying to clean up the leaves that are strewn about the yard. I'll just wait until the weather calms down.

This coming Sunday my sister and I are going to a baby shower for my daughter-in-law. It should be fun and we'll get to play some hokey shower games. Her due date is December 9th so it won't be long before there's another grandchild to love.

I hope all is well in your corner of the world. Sorry I don't post as often as I should. Take care and thanks for stopping by!

It's a very blustery day outside today. The wind is blowing and the rain is falling. All the beautiful colored leaves that were on the trees are now all over the yard. I have about a dozen wind chimes hanging along the patio cover and they are all chiming in harmony. It sounds nice! This is typical weather for our area in November. Once the wind and rain stop, I'll get out the handy-dandy leaf blower and clean up the mess. In the olden days I would use my trusty bamboo rake to gather up all the leaves. It was back-breaking work. Now I just get out the blower and the job is done in no time. I even figured out that if I angle the blower just right, I can blow the leaves back into the park where they came from!

On Tuesday I went out with my sister for some retail therapy. I didn't buy anything exciting but we did go to the dollar store where I stocked up on batteries, bulbs for the night light (yes, I still need a nightlight...lol) and Swiffer-like dusters. I find they work as well as the more expensive brand name ones. The dollar store is also a great place to buy gift bags.

There's a hockey game on tonight. Half the team roster is out with injuries or the flu so it will be interesting to see who's in the lineup. The Canucks are so short of players that one of our defencemen is playing forward. Our star goalie is out with a cracked rib so they have been playing the backup goalie....he's doing pretty good. We won the last two games.

Not much else is new in my neck of the woods. We've got MissM's fourth birthday party coming up in ten days, and I have a baby shower to go to in a couple of weeks. I've been keeping busy, and although blogging is in my list of 'things to do', it somehow gets moved nearer to the bottom of the list.

I hope all is well in your corner of the world. Take care and thanks for stopping in to visit.
